Hi Priscy, You were maybe nervous about being away from home, I know I get stomaches sometimes if I'm away from home, or else I dont' have much of an appetite. Caitlin

Post 3 by Japanimangel (Account disabled) on Monday, 27-Dec-2004 10:44:31

Post 5 by The SHU interpreter (I just keep on posting!) on Monday, 27-Dec-2004 20:03:09

Not really because I went to that same summer camp last year and nothing happened even thow I was nervous, but this year, I had stomachaches every day with wanting to go to the bathroom often. ever since I ate fried fish one sunday because I wanted to try it. this sick feeling lasted for weeks. it started after my mom left me at the university. then, I started school, that virus came up again, and my parents were worried even mor. they said that next year they might take me to a doctor. i think. again it lasted for at least the first month because I had aches every morning after I ate something.I wasn't nervous at all, I was very calm. anyway, I visited atawa, quebec, and toronto.

Post 8 by The SHU interpreter (I just keep on posting!) on Tuesday, 28-Dec-2004 17:47:00

I meant my friend is so irregular. this is only for the cool girls. just kidding, bla bla bla bla bla. it came today in 26 days late.

Post 9 by Witchcraft (Account disabled) on Tuesday, 28-Dec-2004 23:46:46

For anyone who is irregular...They should talk to their doctor about it. I'm irregular, and I found out it signifies a problem for me. Anyways, if you don't have one regularly; you are more likely for uteran cancer; at least according to what I've been told, and there is medicine that can help streighten you out.

Post 10 by Caitlin (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Wednesday, 29-Dec-2004 13:28:45

Yeah. Hehehe lol RdFreak lol ... and erm well yeah, I mostly get stomachaches if I'm nervous or if I've eaten something that doesn't agree that is it. Hehe.

Ok, what I've heard...
if your period is not reguar

Post 15 by Don'tBlaisMeBro (Folle et simple est la brebis qui au loup se confesse.) on Thursday, 30-Dec-2004 11:00:27

Dammit, sorry.
What i've heard was that, for like the first two years of your period it can be unregular, but after that, get it checked.

Post 17 by The SHU interpreter (I just keep on posting!) on Thursday, 30-Dec-2004 18:45:55

I had my perod since 13 and I used to get it every 35 days mor or less. but then since last year, Iget it evry 2 three months and somtimes varies. they last about 4 days that's it. I don know. Does being 86 pounds make difference if yr 4'11 and almost 18?

Post 18 by Emailaddressthief (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Thursday, 30-Dec-2004 19:03:18

I've read that the amount of body fat, exercise and diet can all affect your period. If your really skinny and very active you'll skip more often than someone who's not as active or has more bodyfat.

Post 19 by The SHU interpreter (I just keep on posting!) on Thursday, 30-Dec-2004 20:51:59

um, im skinny due to the fact tht I weigh 86 pounds mor or less, and i'm 4'11. is that still realy skinny do ya think? I'm active but not as much, i mean, on the average because I due not exercise like crazy. so, i used to be pretty regular, but I now as I say, I get it e 2 months, somtimes 50 days, like now, I last had it on november second, and I got it again on november 28 calculate and you'll see?

Post 20 by Caitlin (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Thursday, 30-Dec-2004 20:54:14

Well I don't know much about this but I would say get it checked, because getting it that irregularly is kind of dangerous I've heard. And also since you're 18 it's not like you're a beginner, because for beginners, it's gonna be irregular. So I would go to the docrot, and probably most of it does have to do with being skinny yeah.
Caitlin

Post 21 by Emailaddressthief (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Thursday, 30-Dec-2004 20:57:19

I agree with Caitlin. If it's something your worried about you should ask your doctor.

Post 22 by rdfreak (THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE-BLUE KANGA-KICKIN AUSIE) on Thursday, 30-Dec-2004 21:31:57

and just for the record, the contraception pill allows me to have total cramp free periods. I was put on it for hormones only, and it not only got rid of my zits (due to hormonal issues), and regulated my periods but also means I get no cramps at all like I would if I wasn't taking the pill.

Post 23 by The SHU interpreter (I just keep on posting!) on Friday, 31-Dec-2004 19:40:12

Why were you on b control? only for hormones. how can being skinny affect it? anyway, thank god I have no zits! I only have really dry little dots as if I have dry skin on my face.

Post 24 by Caitlin (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Saturday, 01-Jan-2005 3:39:02

Birht control can be taken to eleviate cramps, I only know because I have relatives who take it because of cramps. So it's not just go prevent birth. And being skinny can effect it because body fat can regulate your periods, I think, I dunno, wel earned somethign about it in Health. So I would talk to your doc.

Does a common cold affect your stomach?

Post 29 by Witchcraft (Account disabled) on Thursday, 06-Jan-2005 19:27:04

Being able to take birth control is great for those who can. I can't use any of it... Birth control can be used to alieve cramps, regulate your period and prevent births. There may be more, but I haven't heard of it.

Post 30 by shea (number one pulse checking chicky) on Thursday, 06-Jan-2005 19:32:42

hey girls, you should think twice about taking the birth control pill just for cramps. That is the whole reason i'm blind. I guess the hormones in the pill didn't react well with my body! It caused a blood clot in my brain. I think I would rather dealt with the cramps! lol! smile, angel!

Post 31 by shea (number one pulse checking chicky) on Friday, 07-Jan-2005 13:34:25

I had no idea that birth control could be that dangerous... and Priscy yeah the flu and colds can definitely effect yoru stomach. Post 35 by shea (number one pulse checking chicky) on Saturday, 08-Jan-2005 23:36:36

yeah, caitlin, that is true! I had a major blood clot on my brain, and they said it was from the birth control. It cut off the oxygen to my optic nerve leaving me blind. I also had a stroke from it, luckily i have no permanant effects other than the blindness! needless to say no pill for me! lol smile, angel

What is hormonal inbalance? what are the symptoms?

Post 39 by Witchcraft (Account disabled) on Wednesday, 12-Jan-2005 20:20:59

A hormonal inballence is where your body doesn't produce the proper amounts of each hormone. The simptons depend on the hormone it is either over or under producing.

Post 40 by The SHU interpreter (I just keep on posting!) on Thursday, 13-Jan-2005 15:35:18

What are the symptoms of undrproduction of female hormone. anyway, what causes rashes on the face? what are som symptoms of over production? What do ya think?

Post 41 by kristabell (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Thursday, 13-Jan-2005 21:48:32

Post 43 by Caitlin (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Saturday, 15-Jan-2005 1:52:16

Post 45 by The SHU interpreter (I just keep on posting!) on Friday, 28-Jan-2005 16:46:38

you know, there is a history of uterin cancer because my grandmother who died years ago hd it and it was awful. she also had irregularities too. you know.

I've never had a stomach ache in god knows how long ago. The last one I've ever had was I think monday or tuesday night and that was it. I think I had trouble with gas but after I went to the bathroom, I felt better.

Post 47 by Caitlin (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Friday, 28-Jan-2005 18:30:57

THose bumps on the face sound like just pimples or whtieheads or somethin'.

Post 48 by The SHU interpreter (I just keep on posting!) on Saturday, 29-Jan-2005 18:50:17

oh, they are not pimples, theyre tiny bumps. and they are really dry, like goosebumps.

Post 49 by Caitlin (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Saturday, 29-Jan-2005 20:22:51

Well I don't know what they are, you could go to a dermatologist and they oculd tell you. Just ask your doctor.

Post 50 by The SHU interpreter (I just keep on posting!) on Friday, 04-Feb-2005 18:41:12

Today, I woke up with pain in the lower part of the stomach. it was so horible that almost made me pass out and throw up. I ate chinese food yesterday, but I don't know what it is. maybe cramps but I don't think they can usually get that painfull and cause you tobe close to fainting. so I don know. that is why I went to call my dad because I couldn't do nothing at all. but im ok.

Post 51 by The SHU interpreter (I just keep on posting!) on Friday, 18-Feb-2005 20:29:06

no idea.

Post 52 by Caitlin (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Friday, 18-Feb-2005 20:38:47

Did you go to the doctor, ouch, that stomachache sounds horrible ... you poor thing! And what did your dad and-or the doc say?

Post 53 by Susanne (move over school!) on Friday, 18-Feb-2005 21:09:49

Did it just stop? I'm not an expert, of course, but I had a friend who went through what sounded very similar to what you describe. She had this horrible stabbing pain in her lower stomach for a few hours, and it increasingly got worse. Then suddenly, as we were waiting in the emergency room for her to see a doctor, it just went away. It turns out she had a cyst somewhere on her reproductive system; I can't remember where exactly. Anyway, of course I can't tell whether or not this is what you have, but my point is simply that it needn't necessarily be anything serious. If you suspect your appendix, though (I suppose that would be on the side of your stomach), you should have it checked out.
Priscy, I'm noticing that you seem to have a lot of concerns about your health. Is everything all right?

Post 54 by Caitlin (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Friday, 18-Feb-2005 21:12:46

Ya agree with Suzanen that this could or could not be serious, and that the best thign to do would just to be aware like your'e doing, and to ask a doctor. Seriously, I wish I could be of more help, but i too have noticed the many concerns you ahve Priscy. THoguh I'm always here to talk I'm not a big help in the medical area you know? Lol.

Maybe you have gall bladder stones.

Post 61 by The SHU interpreter (I just keep on posting!) on Tuesday, 23-Aug-2005 19:21:54

What are gull bladder stones. does anyone know? what causes them

Post 62 by saiyan4414 (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Friday, 28-Oct-2005 0:41:07

Gall bladder stones are stones you get in your gall bladder that can cost a lot of pain, and you should probably go to a doctor and make sure you don't have them because my girlfriend's dad had them and she told me they caused a lot of pain till he got them removed, and it could have ultimately had really bad effects if he hadn't had them removed.

Post 63 by saiyan4414 (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Friday, 28-Oct-2005 1:32:59

Also from what I remember from what my girlfriend told me there caused by drinking to much, there might be more reasons but thats all I remember right now I hope this helps. Tony

is ths true, "Uterine cancer is the most silent disease." because no symptoms are involved

Post 69 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Saturday, 15-Sep-2007 9:40:19

Guys, if you're very overweight and have a lot of body fat, that can also make your periods very irregular. I used to be completely in the dark as far as my periods were concerned, never knew where the next one was coming from or when it was going to start, so I just always carried the necessaries with me in my bag. More recently though, we went to my GP and then I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). I'm now on two Metformin tablets, (usually prescribed for Diabetics) a day to try and sort it all out, but those tablets also have side effects. At best, I have almost daily stomach upsets, but at the worst, I could feel very sleepy, have shortness of breath, I could pass out or they could even kill me, so I didn't take the decision to take Metformin lightly, believe me, but nothing else was working, I wasn't losing any weight and my periods just weren't happening, so there was nothing else for it. I used to get really bad stomach cramps in place of my missing periods as well, and my hormones went completely to pot. I was depressed and also very emmotional, especially the day before one of these very rare periods started.

Post 70 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Saturday, 15-Sep-2007 10:48:54

Ovarian cancer is the one that is known as the slient killer.

Post 71 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Saturday, 15-Sep-2007 10:50:13

let me try that again. Ovarian cancer is known as the silent killer. damn fingers. lol

Post 72 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Monday, 17-Sep-2007 20:49:09

It isn't cancer I've got though. I think you can have polycystic ovaries or ovarian cancer and they're two different things. These Ovarian cysts like I have, just make you infertile, they make your hormones go all over the place something rotten. Ovarian cancer on the other hand, is well, cancer, the big C.

Jen.

Post 73 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Tuesday, 18-Sep-2007 13:13:49

Yes, Polycystic ovarian syndrome is an interesting disorder. Do you have to take medicines to help with the hormone imbalance?

Post 74 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Wednesday, 19-Sep-2007 17:42:24

I didn't know you could take medicines to help with the hormone imbalance. I just went to my GP and she said Metformin was the answer, unless there is something I could take alongside Metformin or just on its own for the hormone imbalance.

Post 75 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Wednesday, 19-Sep-2007 20:30:37

i'm no doctore, and I'm not sure if that's correct, but there should be something to help with that.

Post 77 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Thursday, 20-Sep-2007 7:15:06

Hmmm! I think they do, but Metformin apparently helps as well.

Post 78 by Harmony (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Monday, 08-Oct-2007 17:57:07

Can I ask something, if anyone doesn't mind me asking? How do blind girls know when they are about to start their periods? I was just asking because I don't any of those stomach pains or anything. The doctor put me on the pill a few years ago, so I can know that they are regular.

Post 79 by Don'tBlaisMeBro (Folle et simple est la brebis qui au loup se confesse.) on Monday, 08-Oct-2007 18:36:50

For me, my breasts get really sore a week or so before hand, and I usually get mild to medium cramps in my lower back and stomach one to two days before I'm suspected to start. Sometimes, I can be surprised but for the most part I know just with the flux in my mood, IE: being more easily offended, crying a lot, etc etc.
This was a great question–I'm glad people are actually asking instead of feeling like it's too gross or what not.

Hope this helps,

Cortney

Post 80 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Tuesday, 09-Oct-2007 13:15:21

Well, up until recently, my hormones just go completely up the shoot, out the window, through the roof Etc Etc. I just hurt like hell emotionally, keep going over things in my mind that should've been and just, didn't come to pass which in turn, either makes me extremely mad or incredibly emmotional, so I either, grin and bear it and try as far as I can to carry on as normal if it's a College day the day before I come on, or basically, tell the whole world and his wife to just, stay away from me, give me some space so I can hide away and have a muchneeded how'ow'ow'ow'ow'ow'ow'ow'ow'owl and let all these bottled-up things out. Until I actually do start a period though, I don't have stomach cramps, sickness or any of that. The hormones just go completely to pot, which is my alarm call to get the necessaries out ready for my monthly tidal wave/explosion, lollollollollollollol. That's partly the reason I decied to go for the medication rather than the diet for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.

Jen.
